How We Handle Your Data
What information do you collect?
Just the details required to operate your account, process your payouts and comply with Canadian law.
- Identity: your complete legal name, email, birth date and residential address
- Verification: identity documents and location data from our geolocation checks
- Financial: the payment methods you use, plus your deposits and withdrawals
- Play: bets, games, session times and the limits you set
- Technical: your IP address, along with the browser and device you use
- Messages: emails between you and our support team
How long do you keep it?
While your account remains active, and after that for any period Canadian law requires.
After an account is closed, we keep identity, transaction and play records for the periods set by Canadian anti-money laundering and tax rules. When those periods end, the data is deleted or anonymized.
Does my data leave Canada?
Sometimes, and it stays protected when it does.
Certain partners, such as hosting, verification and payment providers, may handle data outside Canada. Our contracts oblige them to apply safeguards comparable to Canadian requirements. Authorities in the country of processing may obtain access to it under their local law.
Will you send me marketing?
Only if you opt in, and you can stop it whenever you like.
Promotions, Gatineau Rewards and VIP Club emails are sent only to players who have opted in. To stop them, update the preferences in your account, click unsubscribe in any email from us, or contact support. Account and payment notices will still reach you. Players in self-exclusion get no marketing.
How do you keep it secure?
Encryption, restricted access and monitoring.
All data moves through encrypted connections and sits on secured systems. Access is limited to employees whose duties require it, and we monitor for unauthorized access. If a breach poses a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you as Canadian law requires.
Will this page change?
Yes, and we tell you about material changes.
We revise this page following legal changes or changes to how we operate, and material updates are sent to you by email or displayed when you log in.
On what legal grounds can you process my data?
The consent you give, the agreement between us and the duties the law places on us.
Canadian privacy law, including the rules in force in Quebec, allows us to process your data on these grounds: your consent, given when you register and for marketing; the need to run the account and service you requested; our legal obligation to check age and identity and to prevent money laundering; and our legitimate interest in shielding players and the casino from fraud.
Do you use cookies?
Yes, as described on our Cookie Policy page.
That page sets out each category of cookie and how to switch optional ones off.
Which rights do I hold over my personal data?
Access, correction, deletion and objection.
- Access: request a copy of your personal data in our records
- Correction: ask us to update any incorrect or outdated details
- Deletion: request erasure of data we are under no legal duty to retain
- Objection: refuse marketing or certain uses of your data
Send your request to [email protected]. We verify your identity before acting on it.
What about minors?
Play at Gatineau Casino is limited to those aged 19 and above.
Age verification happens before we accept a deposit. If someone under 19 is found to hold an account, the account is shut and its data erased, apart from records we must legally keep. Full details are in our Underage Gambling Policy.
